Flash Forward Incubator 2023
In our 11th year with The Flash Forward Incubator Program, we have selected the theme “This Land”. This theme proposes thinking around concepts of ownership, occupation, shared spaces and resources, our lived experiences, and the sensitivities around what it means to be here – wherever that may be.
With this theme came deep thinking about what it means to be on this land, our lived experiences, concepts of ownership, occupation, shared spaces and resources, places past, present and future, and the sensitivities around what it means to be here — wherever that may be.
As we come to the conclusion of our 11th year of the program, we also reflect on the idea of being here. Still here, after the pandemic, and after a decade of working with youth across the country in the earliest stages of their careers.
You will embark on a visual journey that showcases the work and creative vision of our youth. We are immensely proud of how far each of these new generation image makers have come in their journey and are thrilled that we have been a part of this experience with them.

The Flash Forward Incubator Program is dedicated to fostering future practitioners in Canada coast to coast by giving youth from diverse backgrounds the mentorship they need to create their work and a platform to amplify their voices through exhibitions and publications.
